On a daily basis, a person is bound to both see and use plastic. You can find plastic in the home, in the environment, and in business. One reason plastic is so widely used is it ability to be created in different ways. Not all plastic is the same, and in fact you are most likely to run into only a selected amount of plastic. Some of the most commonly used plastics are:
Polyethylene Terephthalate: When shopping for groceries and you pick up a two-liter bottle of soda, you are holding polyethylene terephthalate. This plastic is the safest to use with food, and so this plastic is found throughout a supermarket or grocery store.
High Density Polyethylene (also known as HDPE): This plastic is used to make backpack frames, food containers, hardhats, and even detergent bottles. This type of plastic can easily have color masterbatch to give it a colorful and vibrant look.
Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC): this plastic is good for engineering plastics compounding. It is used for piping, outdoors furniture, and siding.
Polystyrene (PS): This plastic is sometimes called Styrofoam, and is used to package delicate packages, make plastic tableware, and create cups.
Coloring any of the above types of plastic is not difficult if you work with engineering plastic compounding companies.
